All rumors surrounding the gold edition HTC One smartphone have finally been put to rest as the Taiwanese phone maker officially confirmed the new gold hue for its flagship smartphone.

The HTC One smartphone has got a new color,  the popular gold color that first appeared on Apple iPhone. Gold iPhones became so popular that it led to a shortage in supply initially, but it seems Apple has now overcome that. HTC is also offering a golden hue for its flagship smartphone, which had been rumored for quite some time now.  But this time it is not the 24-carat Gold Genie version or the 18-carat MOBO one,  the aluminum body is in a gold shade, which is an addition to the new blue, red, classic silver and black.

The champagne-colored HTC One has been shown in several leaked images over the past few weeks. Besides the new color, the HTC One remains unchanged under the hood. It sports the Snapdragon 600 CPU, 4.7-inch 1080p display and Android 4.3. The smartphone packs flagship features including HTC Zoe, HTC BlinkFeed and HTC BoomSound.

"Building on the all metal design of the HTC One, and the recent success of the HTC 18 carat gold MOBO phone, we are excited to have developed our own gold device, offering yet more choice to consumers," Philip Blair, President of EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) said in a press release (via Android Central).

The gold edition HTC One smartphone will be available across Europe through various partners. The company did not reveal if the new shade will be available in the U.S. and other global markets.
