Islamabad United thrashed Peshawar Zalmi in the third qualifying final of the Pakistan Super League on Sunday night. The Misbah-ul-Haq-led franchise secured a place in the final after defeating Shahid Afridi's Peshawar Zalmi by 50 runs.

Batting first, Islamabad United scored a massive total of 176 in 20 overs. Sharjeel Khan's remarkable 117 off just 62 balls guided his side to a commanding total, according to News International. He became first player to score a century in the Pakistan Super League.

Shahid Afridi's Peshawar Zalmi, however, failed to chase down the target and were all out at 126 in 18th over. Islamabad United' Imran Khalid and Andre Russell together took seven wickets.

"The whole team deserve credit for this performance. We don't fear anything because we have got nothing to lose. We came out of pressure situations early in the tournament, so we are prepared for any situation," United's skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said after winning the third playoff, according to Express Tribune.

"Having strike bowlers in a team is a big advantage for us. We will try to play final as another game, and we will try to execute our plans," he added.
