Hip-hop artist Kanye West took to Twitter on Sunday (Feb. 14) to reveal that he is $53 million in personal debt, and now a concerned fan started a GoFundMe campaign in order to help bail the "All Day" rapper out of debt, Forbes reported. The page aims to raise $53 million in fan donations in order to support the rapper's artistic ideas.

"Kanye West, prolific entertainer/fashion icon/celebrity/member of the Kardashian family needs our help!" GoFundMe user Jeremy Piatt, a fan from Minneapolis, Minn., wrote in the description on the fundraising site. He went on to explain that he started the fundraiser because, "without our help, the true genius of Kanye West can't be realized."

"As Kanye West has told us time and time again he is the 'greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time,'" Piatt continued in his description. "Great artists need to be supported financially to achieve their full potential."

West took to Twitter and revealed his "personal debt" in a series of tweets on Sunday, as previously reported by HNGN. The rapper, who recently released his much anticipated album "The Life of Pablo" over the weekend, even reached out to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg via Twitter to ask that he invest $1 billion in West's ideas.

The "Jesus Walks" rapper and husband to reality TV star Kim Kardashian cited music recording costs and funding his clothing line Yeezy as the reason for his money problems, according to Forbes. The hip-hop artist is also known to spend $500 on daily haircuts.

Since starting the GoFundMe page on Monday (Feb. 15), Piatt was able to raise $1,037 with 151 total fan donations as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 17), a small fraction of the $53 million goal.
