Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is expected to announce before the Aggies' bowl game whether he'll declare for the upcoming 2014 NFL draft.  Coach Kevin Sumlin said he would begin discussing the signal caller's future plans with him after A&M plays Missouri on Nov. 30, ESPN reports.

Manziel has helped the Aggies to an 8-2, and he's made another strong case for the Heisman trophy with close to 4,000 yards of total offense and 39 touchdowns.

He's played even better than his record-setting previous season, and it's catching the attention of NFL scouts.  ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. projects Manziel to be selected 13th overall in April as the third quarterback taken.

Sumlin addressed Manziel's upcoming decision on Friday.

"We haven't had that conversation," Sumlin told ESPN radio.  "My job is to get him all the facts that we can get him.  We'll have that discussion after the Missouri game, certainly during the bowl preparation.  I'm sure the announcement will be made at that time."

Manziel stole headlines during the summer with several off-the-field incidents, but he's seemingly improved his draft stock by keeping out of the news for anything other than his play.

"He's handled things on the field as well as any player in the country," said Sumlin.  "His numbers are better than they were last year.  And I've had a number of people tell me there's no more exciting college football player in the country than he is, and he's the guy they like to watch.

"He's a special talent.  His energy, his leadership on the team is evident, and he continues to get better every week."

Manziel, 20, has completed 73 percent of his passes for 3,313 yards, 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions; he's added 611 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
