Alex Burrows is reportedly unwilling to waive his no-trade clause for the Vancouver Canucks. Burrows denied waiving his no-trade clause following the Canucks 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, according to Elliot Friedman.

Its not hard to imagine the Canucks trading Burrows. With the NHL trade deadline looming and the Canucks sitting six points back of a playoff spot as of Sunday, Canucks GM Jim Benning will be forced to make a decision if the Canucks are going to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. With a wealth of experience, Burrows might be attractive to a playoff contender looking to add depth, which is likely why reports surfaced suggesting he might be willing to waive his NTC.

Thirty-four-year-old Burrows is not the only member of the Canucks involved in trade rumors. The Canucks have been vocal about under going a youth movement and have been rumored to be shopping several of its veteran players, including Radim Vrbata.

Despite the rumors surrounding his future, Burrows remained adamant that he wants to remain with the Canucks during the team's rebuild.

"I've always wanted to stay here, even if the team is in a rebuild mode because I want to be a part of it. When I signed my contract, I wanted to be here forever and that hasn't changed. I want to be impactful and successful, and you want to be a good teammate and help the young guys grow. I like to believe I can help in that way," Burrows said, according to Ben Kuzma.

The Canucks are coming to a critical point in the season, and playoff positioning could start to develop with meaningful conference games against fellow playoff hopefuls Minnesota and Calgary this week.
