The Xbox One release date is approaching, and with it comes news of a revamped app experience for its users.

Redbox Instant by Verizon will give gamers a new way to entertain themselves, according to Microsoft's Xbox Wire. The Red Box app was exclusively designed for the Xbox One.

Players will be able to search movies using the voice controls or can swipe through content using the Kinect. Snap Mode

"One of the coolest features of the Xbox One is the ability to multitask. With Redbox Instant by Verizon, you'll be able to watch stand-up comedy and play a game at the same time or Skype with a friend and discuss the new release movie you're watching. Thinking through the new user scenarios that are enabled by Snap Mode was an interesting challenge for us, and no other console allows the sort of flexible multitasking that can be done on the Xbox One."

OneGuide

"The OneGuide on Xbox One is where fans of video services like Redbox Instant by Verizon can go to browse the latest movies and entertainment. When you install the app, you'll get four channels added to your OneGuide that will help you find the freshest movies available to stream from the subscription catalog, reserve on disc at your nearest Redbox kiosk or rent/buy directly from our Redbox Instant by Verizon store."

Achievements

"The Xbox One dynamic Achievements system allows us to regularly launch new Achievements, even after we've launched the app, so, the fun never stops! You'll be able to share and compare Achievements with your friends, too." Check out a list of the Redbox app achievements you can earn here.
