Samsung is moving a step sideways to lure fashion-conscious women by introducing a Galaxy SIII Mini beautifully embedded with over 100 Swarovski crystals.

Samsung, the South Korean smartphone maker has teamed up with an unlikely partner, Swarovski, to introduce its unique Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Crystal Edition. The company hosts several high-end editions of smartphones such as the latest Galaxy S4 but Samsung's foray into the glamorous accessory route with the Galaxy SIII mini is completely out of the blue. Yet, the finished product is no less than a fine work of art.

Swarovski is famous for its elegant and exquisite jewelry styling and the crystal edition of the Galaxy S3 Mini represents their signature class. The smartphone is beautifully decorated with 166 dazzling Swarovski crystals across the back panel. Samsung is targeting the fashion-conscious women as the prime customers for its S3 Mini Crystal Edition.

"Smartphones have long become the extra accessory. Therefore, we offer the trend-oriented woman, a smart phone, with which they can express style," Mario Winter, Director of IT & Mobile Marketing at Samsung Electronics, said in a press release.

Besides the decorated back panel, consumers will not be treated with any crystals embedded across the sides of the smartphone, nor has the Home key been replaced with a big crystal, which is usually seen in smartphones decorated with expensive jewelry.

As far as the technical details go, as expected, everything remains unchanged. The S3 Mini sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by dual-core processor. It has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1GB RAM and packs a 1,500mAh battery. Samsung has safely priced the S3 Mini Crystal Edition at €299 ($402). But the device is only available in Germany, and it is unclear if the device will see the light of day in other global markets.
