In Joely Fisher’s household, it’s hard to tell who is the lucky one: the actress or her adorable pooch Lucky. While the four-legged cutie is lucky to have found such an amazing forever home, Fisher counts her pooch as one more bit of luck that includes her happy family and her awesome career.

The longtime pet owner has been performing ever since her famous mother, Connie Stevens, first asked a 7-year-old Fisher to join her Las Vegas stage show. The 48-year-old is most recognized her from her work on hit television sitcoms like Ellen DeGeneres’ groundbreaking ’90s ABC series “Ellen” and the ’00s Fox show “’Til Death.” Currently, she has a recurring role on ABC’s “Last Man Standing” as Wendi, the girlfriend of Ed (Héctor Elizondo).

Fisher has been married to cinematographer Christopher Duddy since 1996. They have three daughters together: 14-year-old Skylar, 10-year-old True and 8-year-old Olivia. The whole family cherishes hound Lucky and, below, Fisher exclusively tells Headlines & Global News why!

HNGN: Tell us about Lucky.
Fisher: He’s the lucky one! I rescued Lucky from some “less fortunate youth” at a flea market who were trying to get a lot of money for him. I think how he came into their possession is a little dubious. He was the perfect tiny specimen, just amazing! He fit in my hand, and looked like a purebred, but they had no papers so I have no idea of knowing. We’ve had Lucky for about five years, so I am guessing that’s his age.

Does Lucky travel with you and the family?
He has gone on road trips with us. He loves to travel, and is very easy-going.

What are some of Lucky’s favorite things?
He loves to burrow. If he gets in bed, he goes straight to the bottom, under the covers - I think that’s hysterical! I know dogs that like to cuddle, but he’s like a rat in a tunnel. He also likes to curl up in your limbs - I think that’s a Chihuahua trait. He’s small, so he automatically thinks he’s a big dog. He’s a tough little guy.

What do you love most about Lucky’s personality?
I love that he’s very low maintenance, goes with the flow and really fits in with the family. He’s protective and kind of high strung when someone first enters the house, but after a while, he’s just supermellow. He always alerts us if someone’s around or at the door. He likes to bark, and that’s one of the reasons he travels with us. But he’s also very chill and very sweet.
