Chimichurri is the most widely-consumed condiment in Argentina, and it usually comes alongside a big hunk of asado, the grilled beef that is the central tenant of Argentine cuisine. Chimichurri is bright, vinegary, and tastes unapologetically garlicky and green, so it's the perfect accompaniment for heavy meat dishes. However, it's also wonderful when drizzled or scooped onto a wide variety of dishes.

Here's a great Chimichurri recipe from Chowhound. Some people make it with cilantro and parsley, but the traditional way is 100 percent parsley. It only takes a minute or two to put together, really! Try all these lunch and dinner ideas that feature this delicious sauce:

1. Classic Argentine Steak and Chimichurri from Cured by Bacon. There's a reason that this is the classic use of chimichurri - the smoky crust on the steak goes wonderfully with the chimichurri's bite.

2. Chimichurri Shrimp from Gimme Some Oven. If you're not into red meat, shrimp is an amazing chimichurri vehicle. This goes perfectly over pasta or even on a sandwich.

3. Choripan (Chorizo Sausage with Chimichurri on a Bun) from Laylita. Choripan is another classic Argentine dish. It's spicy and so flavorful, and it comes together in under 20 minutes. It's a total crowd pleaser, too.

4. Portobello Mushroom Burger with Avocado Chimichurri from Foodie Crush. The portobello has become ubiquitous in between hamburger buns as an alternative to meat, and it's even better with avocado chimichurri. Be sure to grill the mushrooms thoroughly to get rid of most of the liquid from the mushroom so it doesn't water down your bun.

5. Grilled Veggies with Pan-Fried Chickpeas and Chimichurri from A House in the Hills. This light option makes for a filling, super healthy dinner.

6. Steak Fontina Grilled Cheese with Chimichurri from Joyful Healthy Eats. Chimichurri is a perfect spread or dipper in a grilled cheese. You'll fall in love.
