Taking off from Tinder's dating app, a startup company called VINA launched a mobile app that aims to match women with other females who share their interests in order for them to create new friendships.

The app, dubbed "Hey! VINA," shows pictures and profiles of its members, which users can either swipe left or right to. It also uses a matching algorithm so that women looking for friends can be paired with those that are within proximity, with compatible personalities, and those they have mutual friends with, according to Tech Crunch.

"We built this app to solve for our own needs as women who have moved, traveled, changed careers, and shifted lifestyles and life stages. Through our adult lives we go a lot of places that our existing friendships don't always support and it becomes time to expand our circles," said Olivia June Poole, co-founder and CEO of "Hey! VINA," according to Digital Trends.

For the app to work and gather data, users will have to answer quizzes that will determine personality and preference, as well as gauge lifestyle and interests.

"We're building our introduction artificial intelligence (AI) to consider both parties' lifestyle preferences and making suggestions for activities to do," Poole added, according to Huffington Post.

Once a user finds a match, the word "Ditto!" appears on the screen, as well as a message that encourages the women to meet in person.

"Hey! VINA," which is currently available only in San Francisco and New York, can be downloaded from iTunes.
