Carolina Panthers defensive end Jared Allen has returned to practice this week and is ready to play in Super Bowl 50 after missing the NFC Championship game with a broken bone in his foot.

Allen said that he was able to practice Wednesday with "no limitations" and that his foot "feels great" as the team prepares for Super Bowl 50, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. The Panthers traded for Allen early in the 2015 regular season, and the defensive end has been a big part of Carolina's success this season.

Allen has recorded 136 career sacks in 12 seasons in the league, but he has never played in the Super Bowl in his career. The talented defensive lineman was upset after being ruled out of the NFC Championship game and will likely do whatever is necessary to make it on the field for Super Bowl 50.

Allen recorded 27 combined tackles this season and two sacks, and he is a leader on the field for the Panthers defense. Panthers strong safety Roman Harper also returned to practice on Wednesday and is expected to play in Super Bowl 50 after suffering an eye injury on Championship Sunday.

Carolina's defense dominated the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game this past Sunday, and the Panthers defense is looking to get some key pieces back on the field for Super Bowl 50.
