Chris Brown has checked out of rehab after sixteen days and is continuing his treatment under outpatient care, E! News reports, the 24-year-old pop star having recently decided to seek help for his issues with anger management.

"Chris is continuing his rehab program as an outpatient and is also completing his community service in the Los Angeles area," Brown's rep told E! News in a statement. "He appreciates all of your encouragement and support...His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

On Oct. 27, Brown was arrested on charges of felony assault in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man who tried to jump into a fan photo he was taking with two women. According to the victim, Brown said, "I'm not into this gay s**t, I'm into boxing" before he and his bodyguard became physically violent. The victim claims that Brown broke his nose, but a judge reduced the charge to a misdemeanor and ordered him to return to his California probation officer.

"He's a good kid, but he keeps messing up," a source told E! News before Brown entered rehab. "He needs help. He keeps self-medicating with weed and alcohol and that's when he always gets in trouble."

Brown's latest legal run-in is a violation of the probation he has been on since 2009 for his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown could face up to four years in jail if he is found guilty of violating his probation, his hearing set for Nov. 20 in Los Angeles.

Brown is now dating Karrueche Tran, whom he posted photos of himself with before voluntarily entering a treatment facility, though it is unclear when exactly they were taken.
