British actor Joseph Fiennes will play Michael Jackson in a drama based on a story of the weirdest road trip you've heard of - the journey of MJ, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando from New York to Ohio after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, The Guardian reported.

The one-off Sky Arts special is based on a story published by Vanity Fair in 2011, which revealed that the King of Pop, Taylor and Brando set off on a road trip in a rental car after all flights were grounded in the aftermath of the attacks in an attempt to get home to California from the Big Apple. The trio made it as far as Ohio, according to Jackson's former employee.

The TV movie, titled "Elizabeth, Michael, and Marlon," will also feature Brian Cox as Brando and Stockard Channing as Elizabeth Taylor, according to The Wrap.

"It's a fun, lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek road trip of what celebrity of that kind is like. But also it's rather beautiful and poignant about their relationships," said Fiennes.

The British actor is best remembered for playing the character of William Shakespeare in 1998's Oscar-winning film, "Shakespeare In Love." His other credits include "American Horror Story" and Dwayne Johnson's "Hercules."
