Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft, but his teammates have been "less than effusive" in their comments about him, according to Tony Pauline of Draftinsider. Cook is considered one of the top five players at his position in this draft class by most draft experts, and he has become the most polarizing draft prospect for both his play on the field and his off-field reputation, according to Bleacher Reports' Ian Wharton.

Cook struggled to stay consistent at times this season and was ineffective against Alabama in the Cotton Bowl. In the College Football Playoff semifinal, the Spartans quarterback had a completion percentage of 48.7 percent and had no touchdowns with two interceptions in a shutout. Cook dealt with injuries during the 2015 season but chose not to attend the Senior Bowl, and his absence was not announced as injury-related, according to Pauline.

Cook has fallen out of the first round in many draft analysts' mock drafts, and its unclear where the Spartans quarterback will end up in 2016. Cook came in the 2015 season considered by many the top prospect at his position, but his off-field reputation and inconsistency on the field is dropping his draft stock.

There are plenty of teams that will be looking for quarterbacks in the 2016 NFL Draft, but Cook will have to prove to NFL franchises both through his workouts on the field and in interviews that the reputation he has been tagged with is not accurate.
