Congratulations are in order for Candice King (formerly Candice Accola) and Joe King who welcome their first child together, a baby girl named Florence May King. The 28-year-old "Vampire Diaries" actress announced the arrival of her newborn via Instagram and Twitter, posting a photo of her daughter's adorable tiny feet resting on a blank that read her full name and the date of birth, January 15.
She captioned the post with a simple heart emoji. King, a guitarist for The Fray, posted the same photo, with the caption, "I'm in love again."
The couple announced that they were expecting their first child together last August. The actress made the announcement by posting a photo of her surrounded by husband and her two stepdaughters, Ava and Elise (from King's previous marriage) with everyone pointing at her belly, which read "BABY" on a white T-shirt.
"Sometimes a Saturday is best-spent painting t-shirts and taking an awesome family photo. Happy Monday everybody! #ThatAintNoBurritoinMyBelly Thank you to our friend @softspiritstrong for coming over and snapping this sweet pic," she captioned the pic.
King added: "Baby King on the way!!!! So proud to welcome this new life into the world with my beautiful wife and daughters. I truly am a lucky man & dad."
Accola and King met in 2011 and got engaged in May 2013. They tied the knot at the Montegut House in New Orleans in October.
Last week, Julie Plec, co-creator of "The Vampire Diaries," told E! News that Accola has taken a break from the supernatural series and is maternity leave. The actress, who plays Caroline on the series, has completed filming her scenes for season seven and will talk a four-episode break before returning towards the end of the season.
"She actually won't be gone that long," Plec explained. "I think [episode] 16 to 20, maybe. Actually, it's the same contracted amount she's in every year, it's just all in one stretch. It turned out to work out okay!"
