There's so much going on these days. Friends, family, relationships, work, trying to keep a hobby going, medical appointments, keeping up with the news, remembering to do that thing to fix the oven, catching up on your favorite show, calling your grandma, paying your bills... it seems to get harder and harder to take care of everything on your plate without feeling strung out and stretched in 15 directions.

Luckily, we're living in the era of excellent free and cheap apps. No more paying $50 for productivity softwares you don't end up using. These five apps will help you gain control of your life, from your budget to your mental health.

1. Wunderlist.

This app is a sleek, basic to-do app that will help you keep everything in order. Make multiple lists with sub-lists within them, delegate to-dos to other Wunderlist users, set reminders, check things off when they're done and get notified if something is overdue. It's so simple and user-friendly, and can sync to your computer. It's also available in more than 30 languages. Plan a trip, organize your work tasks, remember your bills, make grocery lists, figure out what improvements your house needs- Wunderlist keeps track of it all. Wunderlist is productivity plus organization, says Tech Times.

2. Clue.

If you're in the half of the population that menstruates, you'll love this app. Simple, sleek, and not pink and flowery - because what's so nice about periods, anyway? Clue helps you track your periods and any symptoms that are bothering you. Find out when you're most fertile and when the PMS or cramps will strike. The longer you use it, the more Clue learns and tracks your periods to the day.

3. Stop, Breathe & Think.

This is a meditation app, and it's free and amazing. The app tells you to stop, breathe, and think about how you're feeling and asks you to choose the top five emotions on your mind. Then, it recommends one of their many guided meditations to listen to and follow. They range in length from 2 minutes and 18 minutes, and can be the perfect break in a stressful day. You'll be amazed how much 10 minutes of daily meditation can do for your level of stress and anxiety, and you'll be able to more calmly tackle everything in your day, reported Art of Living.

4. Cozi.

If you've got kids, Cozi is the ultimate helper and schedule organizer. It's a calendar app that's made especially for families, so you'll never miss a dance practice, forget to bring a snack to soccer, or realize you've double-booked the dentist and a yoga class. Assign a color to each family member, and everyone can contribute, adding in whatever the family needs to know about their week.

5. Mint.

If you're struggling to figure out a budget that works for you, Mint is there to help. It connects to your bank accounts and tracks your expenses. You'll see where you're spending stupidly and where you should be more of a savvy saver. The fear that your finances are out of control is worse than finding out the exact amounts, so rip off the band-aid and get your bank account in order with Mint. Mint is your accountant, says the Huffington Post.
