Despite the heavy snowstorm that hit the East Coast, members of the third U.S. Infantry Regiment, also known as The Old Guard, remain watchful as they guard the "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" located in Virginia's Arlington National Cemetery.

"As a record breaking snow storm hits the Washington DC area Sentinels from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) continue to stand guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, Va.," The Old Guard wrote on their Facebook page.

"The Tomb Guards maintain a constant vigil at the Tomb no matter the weather conditions," it added.

The Old Guard has guarded the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier all year round for 24 hours a day for almost 68 years.

The Army's Old Guard spokesperson Major Russell Fox noted that whatever the weather condition, the soldiers will continue doing their job.

"These guys will be out in the snow, no matter what," Fox said, according to ABC News. "They love what they're doing and they're dedicated."
