New year, new do? Pop star and actress Hilary Duff took to her official Instagram page to debut her new hairstyle. The "Younger" star traded her blonde locks for a shade of bubblegum pink with lavender tones and showed off her new pastel look in a selfie - and her stylist opened up about how fans can recreate her fun, candy-colored hue.

In the shot, the 28-year-old former Disney star stared doe-eyed into the camera lens, giving fans a perfect look at her new hair color. Duff's pink-tinged short bob was styled effortlessly into loose waves, and she tucked her hair behind her left ear, showing off her large diamond stud earrings. She paired the cool bedhead look with a gray T-shirt, a delicate chain necklace, natural makeup and a black manicure.

"Good morning @ninezeroone @riawnacapri @nikkilee901 @ambahhh 'ed me," Duff wrote in the caption.

Nikki Lee, one of Duff's hairstylists, posted another shot in which the lavender tones in Duff's new hair color were more visible.

Amber Maynard-Bolt, another one of Duff's hairstylists at the Nine Zero One Hair Salon in West Hollywood, called the shade "iced sorbet pink" and explained why Duff decided to switch up her look.

"Change and fun was behind the inspiration," Maynard-Bolt told the Huffington Post. "She's not filming her show at the moment, so this was a good time to have fun with her hair.

She also dished on tips for fans who might want to steal Duff's look, which can only be achieved if the hair is as light as possible.

"Pastel won't work on anything other than the lightest shade of blonde," Maynard-Bolt advised. "If that isn't possible, then look into either colored chalk or clip-in pastel extensions to get a pop of color."
