Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will add another acting credit to his resume as he gears up to guest star in the WGN America supernatural drama "Salem," Forbes reported. The musician will display his acting chops as he portrays a new character for the upcoming third season of the show based on the 17th century's witch trials in Salem, Mass. However, "The Beautiful People" singer isn't going to be casting spells in his new role.

Manson, 47, will be playing the role of barber surgeon Thomas Dinley, who "is the go-to man in Salem, from a shave and a haircut to being leeched, bled, sliced open or sewn up," the network announced in a press release.

This isn't the first time the rocker has lent his talent to the WGN series. Manson worked together with "Salem" composer Tyler Bates in 2014 to re-make his previously recorded track "Cupid Carries a Gun" (from his 2014 album "Pale Emperor") into the show's theme song, according to Rolling Stone.

The four-time Grammy Award nominee has taken on similar guest roles in the past. He guest-starred in a 2013 episode of "Californication" and had a recurring guest role on "Sons of Anarchy" in 2014, according to IMDb. Manson confirmed his involvement in the third season of "Salem," which started production on Thursday, in a message to fans via social media.

"Looks like I will behold some witch drum pounding," Manson wrote from his official Twitter account. "See you in Salem."
