Trash talking and jeering and your friend's sports teams just got a lot more social. In an announcement on Wednesday, social media giant Facebook has announced that it has created a feature which allows fans to interact in real-time during sporting events, according to CNN Money.

Dubbed the "Facebook Sports Stadium," the feature allows users from all over the world see posts from their friends, as well as comments on specific ongoing plays. The feature also includes comments and game analysis from experts, as well as statistics on the game being watched.

With the Sports Stadium feature, users could now share their thoughts and opinions about ongoing games in real-time, enabling users to celebrate, sympathize, and even trash talk their friends who are also watching the same game, reports Yahoo! News.

Dan Reed, Facebook's Head of Global Sports Partnerships, stated that the Sports Stadium is meant to bring the interactive, social nature of watching sports together with friends to the social media platform.

"Sports are inherently social, and major events like the World Cup, Super Bowl and NBA Finals drive massive social conversation on Facebook today," he said, adding "We've brought all your friends into one dedicated space, along with all of the best game-related content from across Facebook, to create a uniquely social, engaging and informative real-time second screen experience for every major sport across the globe," according to USA Today.

The Facebook Sports Stadium feature is now available for iOS devices. An Android version is currently in the works.
