In the wake of Denna Laing's severe spinal injury, which came during a game between the National Women's Hockey League's Boston Pride and the Canadian Women's Hockey League's Les Canadiennes at Gillette Stadium ahead of the NHL Winter Classic, the NY Post reported that NHL officials expected Laing and her family to sue the league. The Post is now reporting that Laing will not, in fact, pursue legal action against the NHL over an ice surface that some Bruins players deemed "dangerous" during their day practice prior to the women's game.

"Denna Laing's family is not preparing to sue the National Hockey League or anyone else over the serious injury the professional hockey player suffered during the NHL's Winter Classic, a source with direct knowledge of the family's thinking told The Post."

The Post is also reporting that the NHL's Boston Bruins will hold "one or more" raffles during games, half the proceeds of which will go to the Laing family.

The league also announced this week that the Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, the two teams that squared off in this year's Winter Classic, will autograph and auction game-worn jerseys from their matchup this week at the Bell Centre. All of the proceeds will be donated to support Laing's rehabilitation. Laing has no feeling below her chest and limited movement of her arms.

You can bid on the Winter Classic-themed jerseys here. The auction closes on Feb. 11, 2016.
