Tracy Morgan faced a long and difficult recovery after his 2014 car accident that left him critically injured and in a coma. The comedian opened up to his former "Saturday Night Live" co-star Jimmy Fallon about his recovery and what motivated him to get better.

"That's the reason why I survived, for [my daughter Maven] - for her and my wife," Morgan told Fallon on last night's episode of "The Tonight Show."

While Morgan admitted that his recovery was long and, at times, very difficult, he said that it was his daughter who motivated him to walk again.

"I remember, I was in that wheelchair, and she was 14 months, and I'd seen her take her first steps, and that inspired me to get out of the wheelchair and take my first steps," said Morgan. "And then, one day, I saw her running down the hall in a doo-doo Pamper, and I started running down the hall in my doo-doo Pamper. I was still pooping on myself."

Later in the show, the former "30 Rock" star joked about all the things that he missed while he was in the coma, and congratulated Fallon on "beating David Letterman in the ratings."

"I liked that dude," Morgan jokingly yelled when he was informed that Letterman was no longer the host of "The Late Show."

"I'm going back into the coma," Morgan told Fallon as he fell back into his chair.

Morgan is set to return to television in a half-hour comedy from Jordan Peele and John Carcieri for the FX network, as HNGN previously reported. He is also slated to appear in a new film with Ice Cube and Charlie Day called "Fist Fight."
