It may soon be time for us to meet Red’s nemesis.

According to TVGuide.com, Alan Alda has been slated to play a man named Mr. Crowley. The website reports Crowley, a nemesis of Raymond Reddington (James Spader), will attempt to keep him from dishing certain information to Lizzie (Megan Boone) by threatening Red’s life.

EOnline recently reported fans would see someone whom Red possibly feared.

The addition of Mr. Crowley simply adds to this season’s mystery—more specifically to the mystery of Liz’s father.

According to the preview for Monday’s episode, viewers are finally going to see the man Elizabeth calls “dad.” In the preview, that man is laying in a hospital bed. Interestingly enough, Red has come to visit him in the hospital. The man tells Red he must confess the truth to Lizzie. Unfortunately for Liz’s “dad” Red’s response is, “I can’t let you do that.”

Since the series began the overwhelming theory has been Red is Lizzie’s father. He has certainly acted like a father figure throughout the first seven episodes. The scene near the end of last week’s episode also added to the “Red’s the daddy” theory. During the scene he flashbacked to a little girl playing in the backyard of his old home (the home which he subsequently blew up). The assumption is the little girl is Liz.

Is it possible Crowley could somehow play into Elizabeth daddy mystery? Is it possible Crowley is higher on the FBI’s Most Wanted List than Red? (Red’s No. 4) Do you think Red is Lizzie’s father? Or is there more to it? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section below.

“The Blacklist” airs Mondays at 10/9c on NBC.
