A parked car next to Lake Erie has caught public attention after high winds and cold temperatures led to it freezing entirely solid, according to ABC News.

Gusts of wind that reached 47 mph and icy temperatures led to big waves on Lake Erie on Sunday night, spilling water over onto parked cars, according to the Huffington Post. One vehicle seemed to be affected worse than others, and photographs of the icy car soon went viral.

The owner of the car, 24-year-old Justin Yelen, told local reporters that he had parked the car in the lot overnight because of plans to have drinks with friends at nearby Hoak's Lakeshore restaurant, according to ABC News. When he left, the car was already stuck due to puddles of water that had frozen around the tires, but it was still a surprise to wake up to viral images of his entirely frozen car the next morning, according to ABC News.

"I hope summer comes soon," Yelen told WKBW News, adding that he has no idea how he is going to get his car out, which has up to five inches of ice covering it at points. When asked by WKBW News whether he thought the car had sustained any damage, Yelen replied, "I hope not. There probably is!"

Until he puts together a plan to defrost the car, Yelen says that he is going to be reliant on his parents for lifts from now on, according to WKBW News. His parents have taken a light-hearted view of the matter, with his mother, Amy Yelen, joking that he had just wanted a "scenic parking spot" that was "as close to the water as humanly possible," according to ABC News.
