This week, make-up retailer Sephora pulled one of their lipstick shades from their shelves, many customers having found its name, "Celebutard," offensive to people with developmental issues and disabilities, the Huffington Post reports.

The new lipstick was a nude peach beige shade of Painted Love Lipstick by Kat Von D, a line inspired by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D's signature style and favorite tattoo and designed by the artist herself.

After receiving backlash from organizations such as Down Syndrome Uprising, Family Member, Inclusion BC and All About Developmental Disabilities, as well as celebrities like Lauren Potter and Big Gay Ice Cream company who tweeted the makeup chain, Sephora apologized and decided to pull the controversially-named shade from its stores.

"It has come to our attention that the name of one shade of a lipstick we carry has caused offense to some of our clients and others," a Sephora spokesperson said in a statement to CTV. "We are deeply sorry for that, and we have ceased sale of that shade both in our stores and online."

Kat Von D, however, reportedly found the controversy ridiculous.

"At the end of the day, it's just a f**king lipstick," she tweeted before deleting it, which Down Syndrome Uprising caught and reported on their Facebook page, several days before Sephora made their decision to revoke "Celebutard."

The lipstick shade has also recently been pulled from Amazon.com after users allegedly left angry comments in the review section.

"People with disabilities are the last to benefit from what some might call 'political correctness,' and what I would call basic human decency," Kim Stagliano, managing editor of Age of Autism, wrote in a HuffPost Style blog. "'Retard' is still bandied about."
