Taylor Kinney may have come up with the extremely romantic idea to propose to Lady Gaga on Valentine's day with a giant heart-shaped diamond all on his own, but he plans to leave the wedding plans up to his fiancé.

While attending a People's Choice Awards afterparty on Wednesday night, the "Chicago Fire" star explained that he isn't getting involved when it comes to his fashionable wife's plans for their big day. "I'll leave it up to her," he told the Daily Mail. "That's in her court."

As for when they'll tie the knot, they don't really want people knowing. "We'll keep it a surprise," Kinney told People on Wednesday night.

He also spoke about how Gaga recently opened up about her past experience about getting raped at the age of 19 and how it's important to support her. "I don't prod. I don't push. I don't ask," he explained. "If she wants to let something personal out, she does it on her own."

Gaga was in Las Vegas last night, and since she couldn't be there with Kinney at the award show, he brought his mother Pamela Heisler as his date instead. Heisler proudly watcher her son accept the award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor and while she was backstage watching, she gushed about her future daughter-in-law and the first time she met the 29-year-old pop star.

"My mother had just passed away and [Gaga] came, and she was the sweetest thing that ever was," Hesiler told Entertainment Tonight. "When [Taylor] said she's coming, I said, 'No, this isn't a good time.' And she came, and she was a sweetheart...I loved her from the moment I met her."
