Last week Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry had to miss two games as he was dealing with an injury to his lower leg. Curry has played in the teams last three games but in those games he has been in and out of the lineup as he has aggravated the injury several times. The word is that Curry would have to sit out about four weeks in order to let the injury fully heal, according to Rusty Simmons of the Sac Francisco Chronicle.

Curry is currently dealing with swelling and a contusion in his shin and the only way to possibly let it fully heal would be rest but Curry has no plans of sitting out. The doctors are recommending that he takes the four weeks off and he probably can afford to because his team is so good but he bluntly said "I'm not sitting out four weeks."

In the game on Tuesday night, a win against the Los Angeles Lakers, Curry banged his shin in a collision with Roy Hibbert. Curry stayed in the game after hobbling a little bit and seemed to be fine but the Warriors later ruled him out for the rest of the game as a precaution due to the lopsided score. The Warriors next game isn't until Friday and there has been no word on whether Curry will play or not but the hope is that he will as he is considered day-to-day for right now.

The six year veteran has called the injury "frustrating and annoying" but it is clearly something he can play through as he has done well when he has been on the court recently. Curry is currently experimenting with different shin pads that he can play with during games to make him feel more comfortable on the court. Since he clearly does not want to rest the injury he will do everything he can to try and manage it.

The reigning MVP is currently having another MVP season as he leads the league with his 31.7 PER and his 29.3 points per game. Curry is certainly an essential part of the Warriors team but they are 33-2 and three and a half games clear of the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference right now so resting the injury might be in his, and the teams, best interest. Golden State has enough talent to still win games without Curry and the important thing is having him at 100 percent for the playoffs so resting the injury should at least be a consideration right now.
