Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina on Tuesday took a shot at the party's front-runner, Donald Trump, comparing him to another reality TV star: Kim Kardashian. In an appearance on FOX News, Fiorina was asked to discuss the February issue of Esquire magazine, which labels Trump as the "hater in chief" and she responded by saying the real estate mogul reminds her of "the Kim Kardashian of politics."

"Look, I don’t exactly think Esquire is an authority, but there is no doubt: Donald Trump is an extremely divisive candidate. That’s why he cannot win. That is why he cannot be our nominee," the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard said, TPM reported. "But honestly, Donald Trump reminds me of the Kim Kardashian of politics. They're both famous for being famous and the media plays along."

Fiorina repeated that statement on Twitter:

When asked about a new NBC News/Survey Monkey/Esquire poll that suggested white women make up the angriest group when it comes to current events, Fiorina acknowledged the anger and suggested that's why Trump should not be the Republican nominee.

"Well, yes. Women are angry," Fiorina said, Politico reported. "And let’s remember women are 53 percent of the vote. So we can’t nominate someone who routinely insults women. Women are angry because more of them are living in poverty. Women are angry because they feel they’re losing control and power over their own lives. Women are angry because they worry that their children don’t even know what the American dream is anymore. Women are angry because their health costs are going up. Yes, women are angry. And women are an incredibly important segment of the population that we need to win, to win this election."

According to a RealClear Politics polling average on a national level at the end of 2015, Trump leads the Republican field with 35 points. Fiorina is in eighth place with 2.5 points.
