On Monday at 7 a.m, a massive fire set ablaze to a two-story home in Accokeek, Md. Two residents and their dogs escaped with no injuries. The 4200 square foot house "is a total loss as the fire engulfed the entire home for over 90 minutes and caused the first floor to collapse," said George's County Fire and EMS spokesperson Mark Brady, according to Fox 5 News. Investigation into the cause of the fire is on-going.

Firefighters were given difficulty due to lack of accessibility to water hydrants in the area, forcing them to bring in water tankers to tame the fire.

The Accokeek fire was said to cause smoke that witnesses said was "seen from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and the Capital Beltway," according to the Washington Post.

The house was equipped with an irrigation and smoke alarm system. The final damage to the home is said to be worth around 1.5 million dollars, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Further investigation into the cause of the fire is delayed due to the extensive damage of the house. Both residents "are being assisted by the county's emergency management unit and will be making their own living arrangements," according to the Baltimore Sun.
