She's given her opinion on everyone from Justin Bieber to Miley Cyrus, and now rising New Zealand pop star Lorde has spoken out about French house DJ David Guetta, slamming him as "so gross" and rejecting a chance to collaborate with him in the future.
When asked by Faster Louder if she'd be working with Guetta on her next album, the 16-year-old replied, "No. F**k no. He's so gross," GossipCop reports.
Although Guetta is one of the most influential producers in music, having made hits for Rihanna, Jessie J and the Black Eyed Peas, Lorde apparently "wasn't interested in debating the issue" or clarifying why she thought the DJ was "so gross," though one thing is crystal clear: we won't be hearing her voice on his next radio hit.
As for her latest album, "Pure Heroine," the new record has received mostly positive reviews from some of music's harshest critics, including a glowing Billboard review that praised the album as "honest and addictive," and Entertainment Weekly praising it has having not one of its 10 songs be a "loser in the bunch."
Although many fans have praised Lorde for being outspoken in an industry full of yes-people, others are concerned that the new star has been crossing the line and even acting "anti-feminist" for critiquing the work of Selena Gomez.
"I'm a feminist, and the theme of her song is, 'When you're ready come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way," Lorde previously told MTV News of Selena Gomez's hit song "Come & Get It," and Gomez responded in an interview with Hot 99.5.
"I think [Lorde] is super talented and I think it's awesome," Gomez said. "But I think at the same time that feminism and that specific thing is very sensitive because in my opinion it's not feminism if you're tearing down another artist. So that's the only thing that I feel but you know, she's young, she's got so much talent, she's gonna take over, she gets it, so I don't take it to heart."
Joe Jonas also took offense to Lorde's commentary on his former girlfriends Gomez and Taylor Swift, having tweeted, "Hey @lordemusic you say call me Queen B but you shouldn't be attacking all the true Queen B****es's #respect," on Oct. 4.
Lorde, however, has sang the praises of more controversial stars like Kanye West and Miley Cyrus, claiming to be a big fan of both.
