Police arrested a man Saturday morning outside Gillette stadium, the home of the New England Patriots, in Foxborough, Mass. after receiving reports of a suspicious person at a stadium parking lot.

Authorities also recovered a haul of weapons from the man's car at the stadium's parking lot. However, the hockey and football games that are scheduled to be hosted at the stadium are not affected in any way.

The arrested person was identified as Mathew Bromson, 48, of North Granby, Conn. Police investigated Bromson's car, which was parked in the parking lot meant for employees of the stadium. The weapons recovered from the car included a sword, stun gun and meat cleaver, according to the New York Daily News.

A Patriots spokesperson clarified that Bromson was not employed by Gillette stadium, Fox News reported. Meanwhile, the winter hockey game between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens that was scheduled for Friday was not affected and was completed without any issue. Indeed, the stadium witnessed a full house of fans for this particular game. The Canadiens beat the Bruins 5-1 in this match. The Patriots will be on the road this week, hence their games being unaffected.

Authorities had a previous encounter with Bromson. In 2014, he resisted police's efforts to serve him a warrant for nearly nine hours at his residence. He was in possession of several kinds of weapons during that incident- including handguns - and had warned the police that he may use his guns upon them. Fortunately, that incident had ended peacefully without further incident when he surrendered and was arrested.

The police said that Gillette stadium was not threatened in any way and that this particular situation was an "isolated" incident, according to WJAC TV.

Bromson was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of a stun gun and assault.
