Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles' record-tying seven touchdowns on Sunday against the Raiders weren't enough to permanently earn him the starting job.  Eagles coach Chip Kelly declined to commit to Foles as the long-term starter, leaving open the possibility of Michael Vick returning to the lineup.

Completing 22 of 28 passes for 406 yards, seven touchdowns and no turnovers made a strong case for Foles to remain the Eagles' starter, but it wasn't strong enough for Kelly to declare him the starter just yet over a healthy Vick.

"I think you're more worried about it then [Foles] is," Kelly said when asked how he could tell Foles he's not starting again, according to ESPN.

Foles will take first-team reps at practice on Tuesday while Vick remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, allowing for Kelly to avoid naming a long-term starter.

"They told me (Vick's) leg is still sore and he can't go tomorrow (at Tuesday's practice)," Kelly said.

The first-year Eagles coach also admitted he no longer has a timetable for Vick's return.

"After we got past 10 to 14 days, I'm not thinking time frame anymore," said Kelly.  "I can cross my fingers.  I can hope.  But I can't do anything about it."

Kelly is being cautious by not rushing to proclaim Foles the savior of Philadelphia.  While Foles played great on Sunday, he was playing against the 3-5 Raiders, which rank No. 23 in passing yards allowed per game (262.6).

Foles, who didn't play last weekend because of a concussion, had a poor outing two weeks ago against Dallas, where he completed 11 of 29 passes for 80 yards before being concussed and forced to exit.

With a drastic disparity between Foles' last two starts, Kelly appears ready to forget the Cowboys loss if Foles can follow up his game against Oakland with another great performance next week against Green Bay.

"I thought the Cowboys game was the exception, not the rule," Kelly said.  "That was the first time I saw that out of him.  So we'll work off the Tampa game and this game and go from there."
