Republican front-runner Donald Trump has at least one New Year's resolution: Win the White House in 2016 so he can "make America great again." Speaking to Fox News Thursday night from his Palm Beach, Fla. estate, Trump said he resolved to fix several of America's problems and planned to take media calls next year from the Oval Office.

"My resolution is to make America great again, and that's what we're going to do," Trump said, dressed in black tie and surrounded by his family for the New Year's celebration, The Hill reported. "It's going to be an amazing year."

"If we call you in 2017 to come ring in New Year's, are we calling the White House?" asked Fox News anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle.

"Well, I hope you'll be calling the White House. And I promise you'll get through," Trump responded, CNN reported. "You'll always be invited. We're going to make a lot of amends for the mistakes that have been made over the years."

Trump said he would be Hillary Clinton's "worst nightmare" and pledged to strengthen the military. "We're going to rebuild our military to make it so strong, so powerful, that nobody is going to mess with us," he said, according to The Hill. "And, importantly, we're going to take care of our vets, because our vets have been totally mistreated."

When asked about his 2016 plans for the campaign trail, Trump was light on details, only saying that he's "going to be all over the U.S."

Trump also struck a populist tone. As he routinely does, Trump cited his sizable lead over the rest of the Republican field and his intention to keep it, but not because he wants the job.

"I have a very big lead, and we intend to keep it," Trump said, according to Politico. "Not because I want the job, but because I want to do something great for the country and great for the people."
