Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for season six of HBO's "Game of Thrones."

"Game of Thrones" fans have not seen Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) since season four, nearly two years ago in real time. It is unknown how the show is going to explain his growth, but they'll need to as the actor looks considerably older in this first image of him in season six.

But why is Bran on a horse in this image from Entertainment Weekly? Though Tyrion gave the Starks a special saddle design that would enable him to ride a horse after his injury, we haven't seen Bran riding in quite some time. When last we caught a glimpse of the heir to legitimate Winterfell, he had finally found the Three Eyed Raven and was about to begin his greenseer training by uploading himself into the weirwood trees "Matrix" style.

It is believed that Bran's storyline will be used to fill in some of the blanks of Westerosi history via his time-traveling weirwood tree abilities. Specifically, many believe his powers will finally reveal what exactly happened when Ned Stark went to rescue his sister Lyanna from the Tower of Joy.

However, if Bran is on the move with a new look in season six, perhaps that isn't the case. Where is he headed to? Has he been healed? Bran could be out searching for Rickon or attempting to help Jon Snow or Sansa. He could be even wading farther North to take on the White Walkers. Who knows?!

"Game of Thrones" will return to HBO in April of 2016.
