The Boston Celtics have won four games in a row to bring their record up to 18-13 and they look to be a real threat in the Eastern Conference this season. Despite their success so far this season, president of basketball operations, Danny Ainge, still sees room for improvement on the roster as he has said he still would like to add a go-to scorer.  The name that has come up the most when considering who the Celtics might be able to add that fits that description is DeMarcus Cousins but he may not actually be on the Celtics radar, according to Matt Moore of CBS Sports.

The Celtics have a ton of assets to be able to make a blockbuster trade happen and Cousins has reportedly been on the trade block for a while now so naturally the Celtics and Sacramento Kings have been linked. The Kings continue to say they have no interest in trading Cousins but the Celtics would be able to offer a package that would be extremely intriguing to a team that seems to be going nowhere fast.

Ainge was asked in a press conference what type of player he would be looking for besides just being a go-to scorer and although he couldn't address Cousins directly he seemed to shoot down the idea that Cousins is at the top of the Celtics wish list.

"We have good character on our team right now and some mature kids even though we don't have an old team. I don't think it's ever a good idea to have players who are disruptive to your team, on the court and off the court," said Ainge.

Cousins has never had off the court problems in his career but he is known to be immature and a bit of a problem in the locker room due to his attitude so although we can't know for sure, that is likely what Ainge is referring to. Cousins would be a nice addition on the court for Boston but not going after him may be best as he is having a down year. Cousins is still putting up the gaudy numbers (25.0 ppg and 10.6 rpg) but his efficiency has gone way down as he has fallen in love with the three point shot which has his field goal percentage at a career low 42 percent.

The Celtics are one of the deepest teams in the NBA and they look to be very good but most people are in agreement with Ainge that they need another go-to guy to really put them over the top. On the surface Cousins would seem like the perfect fit but it seems very unlikely that will happen anytime soon.
