Apple just took a giant step into the future. Customers who use Apple TV can now access 360-degree video content without the use of a virtual reality headset, according to Fortune. The videos can be accessed through Littlstar.

The Littlestar app is free, according to PC Mag. Downloading the app allows users to access content from Showtime, Discovery, Disney, PBS, Montain Dew, Red Bull, and National Geographic.

360-degree videos have already been available on Youtube and Facebook for months, according to the Verge.

"We wanted to give audiences the ability to consume this content from their living rooms and in a social environment. With Littlstar's app, users can now view 360 videos on their televisions, and experience immersive video the same way they would a traditional TV program," said chief product officer of Littlstar, Tony Mugavero, in a blog post, according to PC Mag.

Users can access the 360-degree video using the Siri remote if on the TV, according to Fortune. iPads and iPhones have built-in accelerometers.

Littlstar launched in 2014, according to the Verge.

"Now users can physically interact with digital brand content, and get immersed with a brand story like never before. It is a mind-blowing experience that helps brands connect with consumers and establish a relationship with them in a more active, engaged way," said Littlstar CEO Ben Nunez, according to Fortune.
