New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees reportedly has a torn plantar fascia in his right foot, but the Saints franchise quarterback plans to play the final two games of the regular season, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

If Brees can not suit up on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, look for backup quarterback Matt Flynn to take over, according to NFL reporter Marc Sessler. The Saints are currently 5-9 on the year and have already been eliminated from the postseason. Reports have surfaced that multiple teams are interested in head coach Sean Payton in 2016, and with Brees turning 37 years old this offseason, many changes could be in store for Saints fans this offseason.

Brees has continued to dominate on the field, throwing for 4,135 yards with 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. The Saints quarterback set NFL records in Monday's loss to the Lions, setting the NFL's record for most career 300-yard passing games with 94. Brees also had his 128th multi-touchdown game ranking him fourth in NFL history. One of the most impressive streaks that Brees accomplished this year was surpassing 4,000 passing yards, making it 10 straight seasons the Saints quarterback has thrown over 4,000 yards, which is another NFL record.

An MRI of Brees' injury reportedly has been sent to Dr. Robert Anderson, the same specialist that treated Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning with a similar injury, according to ESPN. Manning has missed five games for Denver with a partially torn fascia, but other players like former Saints tight end Jimmy Graham have played through the injury.

Brees is reportedly considering several different treatments, but he is going to try to suit up Sunday against the Jaguars, as the veteran quarterback is known to tough it out. Brees has only missed one game in his NFL career, and it came this year in week 3 against the Carolina Panthers.
