David Beckham wants Swedish international and Paris Saint-Germaine striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his proposed MLS franchise in Miami. Beckham told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he wants Ibrahimovic to be among the first signings with MLS Miami, according to Sky Sports.

An undeniable talent, Ibrahimovic told Sports Illustrated in a 2014 interview that he has considered moving to the United States to join the MLS. While it's Beckham's goal to attract high profile players to his Miami franchise, signing Ibrahimovic would be a great start.

"Who does not want a man who is prepared to kill to win?" Beckham told Aftonbladet.

Beckham and Ibrahimovic were teammates with PSG in 2013, in what turned out to be Beckham's last professional season, and Beckham had nothing but good things to say of his former teammate.

"I've played with or against the very best in the world," Beckham said. "I want to say that I have never met anyone who was so serious during both practice and games. When I came to Paris I knew that he was an incomparable talent as a player, but he'd be so tough and merciless on himself at all times, I had no idea. He is a born winner. He is a beast with huge self-confidence, and I'm one of his biggest admirers."

The franchise took a huge step towards MLS partnership, when Miami Beckham United investors secured a stadium site in Miami's Overtown district earlier this month. The franchise may soon need to sign players, however Beckham knows it will take time before the team is ready for MLS competition, according to FOX Sports.

"We have received permission to build an arena and it will take three years ... maybe two, at best," he said. "If Ibrahimovic is still active, then I want to buy him right away. He is a physically magnificent specimen, so it's entirely possible."
