Colors TV's highly popular celebrity talk show  "Comedy Nights With Kapil" will soon ends its journey. Stand-up comedian and Bollywood actor Kapil Sharma's show will go off air within a month.

Host Kapil Sharma confirmed the news, saying that the last episode will air on Jan. 17, 2016.

"Yes, it's true. We told them we would go off air in December, but since they didn't have a replacement ready, they requested us to continue till January 17. We started on a good note and put in immense hard work to maintain the quality," Sharma told The Times of India.

Sharma and his team are reportedly unhappy about the step-motherly treatment received from the Colors TV. The channel is aggressively promoting the newly launched comedy show "Comedy Nights Bachao."

"We have been successfully entertaining the audience for the past three years with our content. But when our show became a habit for the viewers, they introduced another one on similar lines. Celebrities who readily agreed to come on our show were told that they will have to make an appearance on the other show as well," the stand-up comedian and bollywood actor said, according to DNA India.

"I understand the pressure on the channel to work towards making their shows a hit, but not at the cost of sabotaging an established one," he added.

Several Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Asin, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have appeared on the show, according to India Today.
