Jeb Bush was addressing a meeting at a town hall in Contoocook, N.H. when a man who said he had Asperger's Syndrome asked the former Florida governor how he would help people with disabilities if he became president.

Bush answered, detailing his efforts to get more money for Florida's disability system while he was governor, before he started attacking Donald Trump.

"Just one other thing - I gotta get this off my chest - Donald Trump is a jerk. You cannot insult your way to the presidency. You can't disparage women, Hispanics, disabled people. Who is he kidding?" Bush said, reported CNN.

"This country is far better than that. The idea that he's actually running for president and insulting people is deeply discouraging, to be honest with you, and I think we should reject that out of hand. I hope you'll reject it by voting for me, but a guy like that should not be the front-running candidate of our great party," Bush said, according to the New York Times.

"I feel better now. I gave myself therapy there. Thank you for allowing me to do it," he concluded, reported The Daily Caller.

The outburst was the latest in a week which has seen the two presidential contenders sparring with each other. Trump called Bush "dumb" on Twitter on Saturday.
