Prince George, the first-born of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, will begin attending nursery from January next year, royal officials at the Kensington Palace announced Friday.

The 2-year-old royal toddler will attend Britain's Westacre Montessori School Nursery. Located in eastern England's Norfolk, the school it is near the family's home at Anmer Hall, according to the AFP. The nursery only allows 29 students at most to enroll in their school. The cost of attending the school is only £33 ($49) daily.

"We are looking forward to welcoming George to our nursery where he will get the same special experience as all of our children," Westacre Montessori School Nursery said in a statement, according to the Prince of Wales Press Release.

An estimated 85 percent of the parents who send their children at Westacre have funding for their school finances. The nursery school on received a "good" review in the recent Ofsted report, but not outstanding.

"Staff do not always seize opportunities to promote children's learning and deeper thinking skills to the highest level," Ofsted's report said, according to The Independent. The school was primarily chosen because it is near the family's home.

Prince George will follow his Prince William's Montessori education. The late Diana, Princess of Wales, was the first royal to send her son to a Montessori school. The Montessori approach, pioneered by educator Maria Montessori, highlights the importance of the child's independence, their freedom and social development, as well. Children in the Montessori are encouraged to learn techniques such as playing so they can progress at their own pace, according to Hello.
