Chris Brown has checked himself into rehab. The 24-year-old singer made the decision to seek help for his anger issues and has checked into an undisclosed rehab facility, E! News reports. The decision came just one day after Brown made a court appearance regarding an assault charge from a fight in Washington D.C.

"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," his rep told E! in a statement. "His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and career from a healthier vantage point."

Mark Geragos, Brown's longtime attorney dropped the singer off at the facility early Tuesday morning. Attorney David Ononato, who represented the singer in court on Monday, says his client is innocent and "committed no crime" over the weekend. He was charged with a misdemeanor simple assault - originally it was a felony assault - and is due back in court Nov. 25.

On Sunday, the "Love More" singer and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, were arrested after a 20-year-old Beltsville, MD. man accused them of beating him up. According to the man's police report, he tried to jump into a picture Brown was taking with a female fan outside the W Hotel when the singer got hostile.

The man alleges that Brown said "I'm not down with that gay s**t" and "I feel like boxing" before punching him in the face and breaking his nose. Reportedly the signer's bodyguard also jumped into the fight and punched the man in the face before rushing Brown onto the tour bus.

Brown, who is still on probation from his 2009 felony assault conviction for beating up then-girlfriend Rihanna, could face up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.

Shortly before the singer entered rehab his girlfriend Karrueche Tran posted a photo of the pair kissing on her Instagram page with the caption "Always & Forever <3."
