Trader Joe's issued a recall on its Triple Ginger Brew, citing reports of unopened bottles of the soda bursting or exploding while on shelves without warning. The soda comes in what the website describes as an "old-fashioned, emerald green, 750-millilliter glass bottle," reported True Jersey. Bottles affected by the recall were sold in stores nationwide and were purchased between Nov. 9 and Dec. 14.

"This precautionary action comes after the company received inquiries from customers that had experienced unopened bottles shattering or bursting," said Trader Joe's. "The potentially affected product was distributed to Trader Joe's stores nationwide."

No injuries or illnesses have been reported, but, as a precaution, the company has removed the product from its shelves, according to CNN.

Trader Joe's noted that the soda itself is safe to drink — it's only the bottles that are dangerous. With that in mind, customers are advised to get rid of the bottles immediately.

"Customers who have purchased the Trader Joe's Triple Ginger Brew are encouraged to handle it with care and dispose of it immediately in an outside container," advised the chain.

In the meantime, anyone with the product who wants a refund should contact customer service at 626-599-3817 Mondays to Fridays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
