Something or nothing? That's what Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are asking themselves following this Tweet from earlier today.

That's Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito with "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson and Marvel's new Spider-Man Tom Holland. The picture was taken on the set for "Doctor Strange" which has spurred some to wonder if Spidey will be making an appearance in next year's mystical film. As we all know, crossovers are kind of Marvel's go-to when it comes to movie making so it's not out of the question.

Plus, history has teamed up these two heroes several times before, most notably in 1965's "Amazing Spider-Man Annual #2." The Sorcerer Supreme has even showed up during a few episodes of "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" and "Ultimate Spider-Man." The two characters also primarily operate out of New York City, so they have that going for them as well.

Considering that "Doctor Strange" will explore Stephen Strange's origins, we doubt that Peter Parker would be able to play a significant role (Strange is off in Tibet for a while). It certainly won't be a team-up of sorts as we're expecting with Thor and the Hulk in 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok." Perhaps Holland has just a brief cameo in the film or isn't even in the movie at all. It's possible that he was just stopping by to say hello. The young actor does live in the UK, where "Doctor Strange" is shooting, after all.

"Doctor Strange" will break new ground in the MCU with his abilities. The character was first mentioned in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and he has the ability to travel to different dimensions (including the Quantum Realm seen in "Ant-Man"). This will enable the MCU to take on the magical and mystical as well as the earth bound ("Avengers") and space ("Guardians of the Galaxy"). Who knows if there is room in there for Spider-Man or not?

"Doctor Strange" will hit theaters on Nov. 4, 2016.
