Killer Mike, activist and one-half of the hip-hop super duo Run the Jewels, released a six-part video interview with 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders to discuss issues that affect the black community, Rolling Stone reported. The unlikely pair sat down and talked about Sander's platform and his views on issues like gun control, marijuana, health care and Republican 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump.

In the first clip, titled "Economic Freedom," the hip-hop artist extended his hand to Sanders and introduced himself by his given name, Michael Render, and said that his rap lyrics cover a lot of the same things that Sanders talks about during his speeches and presidential debates. Over the course of the interview, the two bonded over their views.

"I didn't get into politics to figure out how I could become a president or a senator, I got into politics because I give a damn, because I do think it is an outrage that we have people sleeping out on the streets in this country," Sanders said at one point during the interview.

He also addressed his perceived "soft stance" on gun control, stating that he believed people "have a criminal record or a record of beating up his wife should not be able to own guns," according to CNN.

Killer Mike also brought up Donald Trump and said that he finds it odd that people accuse Sanders of being a socialist because he said Trump's views are fascist.

"It is fascist to run identity checks on people," Killer Mike said.

"What's scary about Trump is there are a lot of people out there who feel certain ways and you see somebody who is running for president say these things," Sanders said. "'Whoa! Trump said that! I can say that! I can beat up the Muslim in my community! I can be a racist on a college campus now, because that's the climate.' So you're right, it is scary."
