A Southwest Airlines plane skid into a ditch shortly after landing at the Nashville International Airport on Tuesday evening, according to CBS 12. Eight people were taken to Summit Hospital for injuries.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Southwest Flight 31, a Boeing 737 that was carrying 133 passengers and five crew members, departed from Houston Hobby Airport at 4 p.m., according to USA Today. However, it "rolled off a taxiway into the grass and got stuck while taxiing to its gate" at about 5:20 p.m., according to CBS News

Several people took to Twitter and shared their experiences of the incident.

Nashville fire department also announced via Twitter that eight people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth 5.

"Passengers left the aircraft via stairs and were bussed to the terminal," Bergen said, according to the New York Daily News. "The FAA is investigating."
