Google has updated its Internet connected eyewear, Google Glass, and is expanding its availability to more people via current Explorers(as the earlier version of the glass is known) .

Google is moving ahead with its internet connected eyewear by getting the Glass into a few more hands. While it may not be time for the general public to get their hands on Google's most hyped innovation, current Explorers can introduce up to three friends each, who are best suited for the Glass. So if you have a friend who is a Google Glass owner then you may have a chance to grab one for yourself.

"They'll be able to buy Glass online and can have it shipped to their home, office, treehouse or igloo," Google said in a post. Introduced buyers will have to shell out $1,500 to get their own Glass, similar to what the early buyers had to pay to get theirs.

The world's largest search engine hasn't stopped at giving out its Glass to new Explorers, but is also offering a one-time free swap for the current Explorers. Why would one need to trade-in the current eyewear for a new one? It's simple! Google says it has made several improvements, which will "allow your Glass to work with future lines of shades and prescription frames, and they'll also include a mono earbud." That is something you would gladly trade-in your old hardware for.

Since the first batch of Explorers is cherished, they can opt to change the color of the wearable glass during the swap-out. However, Glass owners must register themselves for an exchange within 60 days from the time the program  commences.

"We'll be offering a one-time optional swap out for Explorers who purchased their device before October 28, 2013," the official Google Glass Google+ account shared the message, Tuesday.

Google started its Explorer program with the launch of the gadget last year and said in its post that it was "going really well."  The web giant is relying on current explorers to choose new owners wisely.

"We're counting on you to get Glass to the people you think will make great Explorers. More Explorers means more feedback, and more feedback means better Glass," Google wrote.

Google will start sending invites in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
