As its name would suggest, "Star Wars" isn't just a global phenomenon, it's an intergalactic one. As a result, "The Force Awakens" will be screened on board the International Space Station so that astronauts on board won't miss out on Earth's biggest pop culture moment of the year. No, you won't read a story as cool as this all day.

Astronaut Maj. Tim Peake, along with the new attendants of the ISS, will be able to watch the film on a projector on board the closest thing we have to our own Star Cruiser ship.

Peake was asked on Twitter if his departure date, Dec. 15, was a problem since it was just two days prior to the worldwide release of "The Force Awakens." But the first official British astronaut on board wasn't worried for a very special reason.

If you want an authentic "Star Wars" experience, watching "The Force Awakens" among the stars is about as good as it gets. Just don't stray too close to the Death Star.

Peake will soon arrive at the ISS, where he will remain for six months. During his time in orbit, he will be apart of several important experiments and tests.

Good luck, Major Peake. We hope the newest "Star Wars" film is to your liking, and may the Force be with you.
