The Utah Jazz were picked by many to be a sleeper playoff team in the Western Conference this year as they have a ton of young talent and finished last season extremely well. Right now they currently sit in the eighth spot in the West but their 10-12 record is uninspiring. Utah has been without Rudy Gobert for the past six games which is part of the problem but another part of the problem has been the point guard position. In an attempt to strengthen the point guard spot the Jazz reportedly have interest in bringing back Toure Murry, according to Jody Genessy of Deseret News.

Utah came into the season shorthanded at the point guard position as promising young point guard Dante Exum tore his ACL playing for Australia and is out for the year. Still though, the Jazz felt they would be fine because they still have Trey Burke and rookie Raul Neto whom they really like but it hasn't worked as well as they would have hoped.

Neto started the first 21 games of the season for the Jazz but shot the ball poorly and overall didn't have much of an impact, as shown by his 8.7 PER, so he was taken out of the starting lineup in Utah's most recent game and didn't even end up seeing the floor. Burke has played well so far this season off the bench but he is more of a scorer instead of a facilitator and the Jazz want more depth which is where Murry could come into play.

Murry was a member of the Jazz for a quick second back in the 2014-15 season when he appeared in one game and played one minute before being released. Murry was in training camp with the Washington Wizards this past offseason but was cut about a week before the season started and he is now playing for the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks' D-League affiliate.

Murry is a 26 year old guard out of Wichita State who had his best NBA stint with the New York Knicks back in 2013-14 as he played in 51 games and shot 43 percent from the field in limited action. Since leaving the Knicks Murry has had trouble finding a home and although he isn't a huge game changer the Jazz could certainly use the depth at point guard so he may get a shot in the NBA pretty soon.
