Shortly after the Seattle Mariners acquired Wade Miley from the Boston Red Sox, rumors indicated their next move was to go after Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Adam Lind. Such talks have progressed over the past few days.
Here's the latest from FOX Sports' Jon Morosi:

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports adds the deal is "said to be close" and that Mariners catcher Mike Zunino is not involved in the talks.
The Brewers have already begun their rebuild as new general manager David Stearns traded away closer Francisco Rodriguez and is reportedly fielding offers on catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Lind, who will make $8 million in 2016 and then become a free agent, is perhaps the next player to leave Milwaukee as the Brewers might as well get value for the slugger since they won't be contending in 2016.
Lind, 32, batted .277/.360/.460 with 72 runs scored, 20 home runs and 87 RBI in 2015. He's a left-handed power bat, which is something that's in demand across the MLB. Also, at $8 million for the season, Lind could perhaps be one of the best bargains around.
The Mariners traded their first baseman Logan Morrison (as well as 1B/OF Mark Trumbo) earlier in the offseason. Jesus Montero is currently listed as the team's first baseman, but it's unknown if general manager Jerry Dipoto views him as a viable option since the previous regime traded for the 26-year-old.
Earlier this month Dipoto said if the season starter today then Montero would be the club's first baseman, but that was also before the M's were involved in talks for Lind. Montero has yet to replicate his numbers from the 2012 season when he hit 15 home runs and 62 RBI in 135 games with Seattle. He has played in just 73 games since that season, which may indicate his involvement in the team's long-term plans is unclear.
The deal could happen any minute now, so keep coming back for updates.
